"When Picasso became bored of painting people, he started representing them as cubes and other abstract forms. The world called him a genius! I've spent my entire surgical career creating the same tired shapes, over and over again: the upturned nose, the cleft chin, the ample bosom. Wouldn't it be wonderful if I could do with a knife what that old Spaniard did with a brush?"
One of the best! November 29, 2009 P. Shah (Ajax, Ontario, Canada) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
One of the best next-gen games out. Incredible plot, graphics and gameplay. A must have first person role-playing game.

Beautiful graphics, great steampunkish/art-deco feel, fun gameplay..in short one of the best next gen games.
Incredible atmosphere, original game July 14, 2009 Meagol (TO) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Pros: gorgeous looking, great controls, smart story, creepy atmosphere
Cons: some unexplained frame rate drop--considerable; I haven't been able to download the latest update that may deal with this problem, and that may very well be a PSNetwork issue.
Shooters are not my favorite genre, but this game is truly special. I guess that means it's not really a shooter;) maybe we'll call it survival/horror/shooter. I've been playing it at night with good surround sound headphones on, and there's been a couple of instances where the creepiness got to me to the point that I ran out of the level I was in before actually engaging the mutated degenerates populating the underwater city of Rapture. The city is richly detailed the levels are interesting, and you never feel lost; there's plenty variety in game play, and that's something that shooters don't normally have. It looks gorgeous, and the sound does a lot to draw you into this world. It's only single player, but in my book that is a plus, as it means I'll have a chance of getting the platinum trophy for the game. So far I'm loving it, and at the bargain price, you cannot go wrong with this game. I'm looking forward to the BioShock 2 sequel already, though the release date has been pushed forward into 2010.
